Hello--I'm Joe, and I'm a video game and comic artist. My first published work, A Dummy's Guide to Danger: Lost at Sea from Viper Comics is out now! Check out some preview art in my galleries. And a 9-page lettered preview of the first issue can be found here! Currently, My next book is Serpo, a sci-fi graphic novel for Devil's Due. And then, I'll be working on a few anthologies and a comic of my own creation, about America's worst super-team. Since I am a paper-smudging lefty, I use a Wacom Cintiq tablet, with Photoshop and Illustrator to draw. I also model and animate in 3d with Autodesk 3ds Max, Zbrush, and Maya, which I also use to help me set up background shots. I'm looking to meet comic fans and pros alike to chat with and network. I am currently working on several pitches, but I am available for pinup and cover work. I will also consider UP FRONT paying projects. Feel free to check out my stuff at the sites below: Supajoe.com!My DevArtMyspaceConvention Appearances 2008:San Diego Comic Con, July 24-27Tulsa DefCon 7, Aug. 1-3Wizard World Texas, Nov. 7-9my artistic influences: alan davis, salvador larocca, frank cho, steve mcniven, pia guerra, becky cloonan, j. scott campbell, michael ryan, adrian alphona, scott kolins, nick bradshaw, craig thompson, david lapham, adrian tomine, tony harris my fave writers: brian michael bendis, brian wood, alan moore, garth ennis, brian k. vaughan, chris claremont, grant morrison, chuck palahniuk my top 5 GNs/trades: v for vendetta, channel zero, carnet de voyage, invisibles: say you want a revolution, x-men: god loves, man kills

Are you going to be at CAPE this year? Dang, pretty soon, you can have a table there, esp since it is free.
I will be there and my best friend that lives in Tulsa is coming down for it too. 2 Replies [ Latest posted on April 15th, 2007 11:17 AM ]

Wow man. I didn't know you were making comics. That is really looking pretty damn good. Looks kind of like some stuff that Oni Press puts out. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on April 14th, 2007 11:29 AM ]

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going! If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page. Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!
