| Header: | Veteran Comics Artist George Tuska passes away... | ||
| Bulletin: | It is with great sadness that I have recently learned of the passing of George Tuska, a longtime veteran comics artist of the golden, silver and bronze ages, a career that spanned over 6 decades. Although he will be best remembered for his long lasting silver age run on Marvel's "Invincible Iron-Man", George also produced great works for other notable titles such as; Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunder Agents, Captain America, Buck Rogers, and even came out of retirement to do an issue of WildC.A.T.S. I got to know him through the convention circuit, he was always a very nice man to me and a top professional, a highly talented artist who truly loved his craft. Due to his age and failing health he was forced to retire from the convention traveling for the past 4 years. I am the proud owner of two George Tuska pieces both of one of his favorite characters..."IRON-MAN". The comics biz has lost yet another gifted artisan and valued piece of it's history...not to mention a sincerely nice person...a comodity most rare these days... George, rest in peace sir, you will be missed... GEORGE TUSKA (1916-2009) |
