Bulletin: Welcome to Ten Ton Studios: Guide to Being cool.

If it's your first time tuning in let me throw a sort of introduction at
you. My name is Scott St. Pierre, one of the fathers of Ten Ton Studios.

Before I ran with Ten Ton I was just like most of you reading this. I was
just another guy on the other side of the table at comic book conventions.
I noticed early on a there was a huge difference between how people behaved on one
side of the table than on the other.

What set off my passion to bluntly tell people what and what not they
should do to make this place a better planet? I was at a Wizard convention
in Philadelphia. Marvel was doing it's regular panel and as they usually
go, they open things up for questions from the audience.

This one guy, oozed fanboy, dork, nerd and stinkpile all at the same time.
He raises his hand, stands up and says "What's Marvel doing to get more
people to read comics?"
Indeed it was a good question, which Marvel aptly replied, "We're just
going to continue to keep making great comics. Which they were doing at
the time. I can't remember what year this show was, but I could figure it
out if I really wanted to put my heart into it. What struck me at that
moment was this. I felt Marvel's answer should have been. "Well, we're
gonna keep doing what we're doing, but What are you doing to get
more people to read comics?". I say this cuz the general public gravitates
towards beautiful things. Bad movies don't win Oscars. Bad comics get
cancelled. (Of course, remember good movies don't win Oscars sometimes and
good comics also get cancelled.

So when I see someone all cracked out, bleeding gums, hit stained arms and
a shrunken face, I don't tend to want to start smoking crack.

Same goes with comics. If the populous involved in the industry are a
bunch slobbys, Where is the gravitational pull in getting new readers into
the comic shops?

I'm not saying "Lose 50 pounds", but standing up straight, shoulders back,
chest out is a remarkable character trait.

Somewhere along the way I asked myself, maybe it's not just good for
comics, might it be good for all of mankind?

Now the hit list.

Any shirts, even your favorite, throw them away if they have holes, or are
yellowing in the armpits.

Next time you put a load of your undies in the dryer, put in two dryer
sheets instead of one. Your clothes will be extra soft. Your welcome.

Your assignment this week...I want you to hit me as hard as you can, and
I'm going to hit you back.
