My name is Nicholas Q.M. Lopez. Call me Nick. Comic books have been my passion since I was three years old. Because of my love for this artform, I have developed my own superhero epic, which is in its 7th year of production. It takes place in a near future setting and is based on Christian mythology of Armageddon. I have over 90 characters in this epic which consists of six titles in an intertwined universe. Though this combination has been attempted before, my spin on it is quite different, in that the characters, origins and situations are more complex. Aside from this six-sided epic, I have storyboards for 11 other isolated comic book stories. My comic books, both story and art, are strongly influenced by my favorite comic works and their creators. First and foremost Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme, Alan Moore's and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen, Geoff Johns' JSA, Peter B. Gillis' Strikeforce: Morituri, Jim Lee's WildC.A.T.s, Stan Lee's and Jack Kirby's Silver Age Avengers, Kurt Busiek's and George Perez's Avengers, J. Michael Straczynski's Rising Stars, Joe Madueira's X-Men, well pretty much all X-Men and Batman titles. Though many inspirations I give most of my writing credibility to Geoff Johns and Alan Moore and artwork to Jim Lee and George Perez. I love the superheroes of Marvel and DC, and those of early Image, but as of late I have grown tired of all the "Let's see who can come up with the most ridiculous story that could fuck up continuity so we can sell more books!" bullshit. So I have been focused, now more than ever, discovering my absolute favorite superheroes; those of the Indy publishers. haha. wow. i havent used this site in a while. but yeah I'm still ousting the big boys. i havent bought a Wizard magazine in the last 6 months!!! i have every copy since late 1999! but yeah im still taken back by them. the writers are superb, but i just can get into them the same anymore...
