The Comic Book Haters is a ridiculous comic book podcast. For over a year we've been maintaining a steady flow of episodes, with over 75 episodes coming out throughout the first twelve or thirteen months. If you're a diehard comic fan, you've probably got your head in the dark as to what the 'average man on the street' thinks about the hobby. Care to find out? Listen in for a harsh, eye-opening look at what a non-fan thinks of the hobby.

Mainstay co-hosts DJ Sloofus and Schooly Gtake time out from their busy schedule each week to 'review' (notice the single quotes around the word; that implies a somewhat stilted definition or liberal meaning of the word) various comic books. DJ Sloofus is a lifetime comic book reader and lover, whereas Schooly G claims to despise and hate comics of all forms. As a child, however, he did enjoy GI Joe comics and (strangely enough) a few issues of Secret Wars II. Many listeners claim Schooly is full of crap, and secretly loves comics.

In addition to the aforementioned hosts, the Umbrellaman makes frequent appearances. The forlorn and unloveable Cappy (known as "the Capmeister" to himself) also regretfully appears from time to time. The Comic Book Robot used to hang around the Funnybook Dungeon quite a bit, but has since moved on to pursue a musical career.

In addition to the meaningless nonsense that accompanies the weekly show (or rather, despite it all), the CBH crew have managed to interview some of the best creators the indie comic world has to offer. Peter Bagge, Johnny Ryan, Evan Dorkin, Sam Henderson, and Jimmie Robinson have all been featured, along with G.I. Joe luminary (and Schooly's man-crush) Larry Hama.

Beer is often consumed and plenty of words that haven't been uttered outside of an R. Crumb comic are used, so please exercise discretion when listening. If you like other comic book podcasts but find yourself taking them for granted, give the Comic Book Haters a listen. You'll soon be appreciating the others a whole lot more.
