If you're looking to start a real comic of any sorts though, what i would say is try not to fall into any pre-assigned category (Gamer/D&D/Super-hero etc), they world has enough of those already and it's only the truly original ideas that tend to stand out from the crowd :)

Hey, ive started YET ANOTHER project XD, a comicspace exclusive called Imperium. Was gonna do another Eugene Manx page but the Renault 4CV is annoying to draw. Of course i could have given the character with it a different, squarer car but i'm hard on myself XD
