ThePerfessor
Back in 1962 or thereabouts, I was bitten by a radioactive comicbook, and have been hooked on them ever since. For a time, I actually worked as a writer for many comicbook fan mags ( Amazing Heroes, The Comics Journal, Comic Buyers Guide, Wizard, Hero Illustrated, Flux, Combo, and, well way to many to mention here without sounding like a braggart of sorts. I also did some freelance marketing writing for Marvel, DC, Image, Valiant/Acclaim, Dark Horse, and some other publishers. In addition to all of that, I am the author of a pair of books. One about fast food collectables ( Kiddie Meal Collectables, Krause Books), and one on advertising trivia ( Trivia Mania: Commercials and Ads, Zebra Books — I was aided and abetted on this particular book by my good friend and sometimes co-writer, John A. Wilcox). I also wrote an espionage-themed comicbook entitled Agent Unknown, which was published in the late ’70s by Renegade Press. Currently, I’m not only the features editor for Comics Values Annual, but I’m the Communications Director for Guild Works Productions, as well as a contributor to the company’s line of comics ( Psychosis! and CAG). One of my stories appeared in Psychosis! #1 and GWP has committed to bring back my Agent Unknown series, in future issues of CAG. Over the years, I have amassed literally thousands of comics from all publishers, but have remained partial to Marvel’s heroes in general and Spider-Man in particular. These days I’m mostly collecting Spider-Man titles, and a few independents (I’m also a regular contributor — and Sr. Title Coordinator — to Spider-Fan.org. My Spider-Man collection begins at Amazing Fantasy #15 and runs through all first-run Spider-Titles (including guest appearances) to the present day, (with only one smallish 5 or 6-year gap between '96ish and '01ish; but I am swiftly filling that in). These days, (as stated), I’m mostly hanging with the fine folks at the Comicbook Artists Guild (including Mark Mazz, Keith Murphey, Chris Buchner, Melvin Ylagan, Ed Traquino, Matt C. Ryan, Shawnti Therrien, and James Rodriguez among others). Well, having said all of that, I’d go a bit into what I’m up to now, but these days I’m more interested in having my (published) work speak for itself. Hence, I’ll let you all know what’s coming up, just as it about to hit, rather than endlessly hyping it months in advance. See you in the funnypapers! In my personal blog Is Nothing Sacred?, I tend to talk about comics and stuff, while I review films in my movie column, Suspension of Belief, which is posted on PopThought.com. Then, of course I’ve just (finally) began building my very own webspace where I can conduct business in the real world. Right now it is just a holding page, but I’m hoping to soon have it up and running. In case you’re interested, that space is Freelance Ink. Stop on by to see what else I’m doing (out in the so-called “real” world.) Ciao!

Hey Bob,
The Spider-fan.org link sends me to a weird page that shows it for sale or something. Weird.
