I’m looking for a few good artists.

I’m a published writer (since 1978) with a well-documented history of work in the comicbook field both as a writer/journalist (for quite a number of comicbook magazines), to a smattering of short stories for various publications (take a walk through my ComicSpace page), to a couple or three books (look me up on Amazon), so yeah, I’ve been around for a bit.

I only want to collaborate with an artist (or artists) who is(are) interested in getting published and serious about getting it done. I’m serious as a heart attack here. I’ve worked (or rather tried to work) with people who are all mouth. You know the type. They talk a good game, but never deliver and it is never their fault (the sun got in their eyes, their dog ate their artwork... blah, blah, blah). I’ve got no time for pretenders, hot dogs, or rock stars on the make.

I only want to work with folks who are interested in getting published. Seriously interested in getting published. I’ve got more than a couple of concepts in the works, and have connections to get them published — and yes, — perhaps even paid.

You read that right. Paid.

To be clear. Currently all projects are on spec (that means I’ve got no money myself, but am pitching them for publication), but I sincerely believe that I can leverage these properties into paying work. If you think that you can deliver the goods, and are willing to do the heavy lifting, then contact me, and we’ll talk.

It really doesn’t matter to me if you’ve ever been published before (but it certainly helps if you have). I’m interested in talent, hard work, and a willingness to get the job done. If you deliver the goods, then keep walking and don’t waste either of our time. This may sound unduly harsh, but I’ve been burned before and want to avoid that experience going forward.
