| Bulletin: | The Comicbook Artists Guild announces the release of its on-going, multiple-themed, annual anthology, CAG #7. The issue will be available for sale at the 2008 New York Comic Con held this month at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. The anthology is cover-priced a mere $5.95 for 56 big pages of action and suspense! The issue includes CAG’s first ever Western entitled, Reflection in the Water by Carl Herring Jr. and Ed Coutts which is sure to bring lots of shoot ‘em up action! Then, because you simply can’t get too much of a good thing, Ed Pereira and Ed Traquino bring you a story of honor among the dead, Steel and Paper. The really big news, however, is the long-awaited return of Bob Sodaro’s legendary espionage thriller, Agent Unknown (after 20 years in hiatus) with stunning artwork and a very special painted cover by Chris Torres! The issue includes the conclusion to The Commander storyline, written by Chris Buchner with art by J.M. DeSantis and Alex Rivera. Also, let’s not forget about Rockabilly Rex as he saddles up once again in a short called Riders in the Sky! Still, as they say on late-night TV, “But Wait There’s More!” This issue includes a special flip-cover story by our good buddies over at the Filament Factory in a story called, A History Lesson Starring: Takchaka and Squeeature! Plus, pin-ups by the renowned anthropomorphic artist, Rusty Haller. CAG #7 retails for just $5.95 for 56 pages! The Comic book Artists Guild is a national network of artists, writers, filmmakers, and animators bound together for a common goal of enmeshing themselves in the comic arts. CAG #7 is our seventh annual collaborative effort. We don’t stop there, as our members work with each other to produce their own various projects and creations. Collectively we work towards projecting a good reputation for comic creators and the comic book medium in the community around us. As creators, our common goal is to allow comicbook aficionados to connect, collaborate, and network on projects, plus allow everyone in the group the opportunity for exposure. CAG members share costs on comic conventions; work throughout the year on various social and professional activities. The Guild is a great way for budding talent to rub elbows with established pros and to meet people with common interests and become involved with fun activities in the industry. # # # CAG will be at the New York Comic Con III, April 18–20, 2008. The show is located at the Jacob Javits Center (655 West 34th Street — New York, NY 10001). For information about CAG or the CAG annual contact press liaison, Robert J. Sodaro, 203.849.1989 or rjsodaro@optonline.net |
