Hi fellow comic book fans welcome to my site. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about myself. I've been reading and collecting comic books for over thirty years. I'm a fan of the comic books from the early sixties right up until the mid eighties. To me comic books lost some of their appeal in the nineties. In my opinion, comic books during this time were being mass produced without much story lines to cater more to the comic book investors that were flooding the industry and less to the true comic book fans. Again this is just my opinion, and I'm sure there are those who would disagree. Once I lost interest in comics in the nineties, I decided that I would create my own characters and write story lines that could entertain like the stories from days long gone. I also wanted to seek out talented artists who could recreate those master strokes reminiscent to the artists of my yester years. Thus with this in mind, Three J Productions was born.
Having created the company, now it was time to create the book. I sat down one night to pen my first story. Several weeks later I finally finished my first script. The book was The Enforcers, the title of the story was "The Chosen Ones". The synopsis of the story has New York Senator Lawrence Fulton appointed by the Federal Government to head the newly formed Enforcers Project. Fulton recruit's a mysterious Special Forces Commando to help train the hand picked agents who will make up the Enforcers team. The job of the Enforcers is to go after New York City's most powerful drug lords before they can unite and create a new drug cartel known as The Alliance. With script in hand, I set out to find an artist. I placed ads in several trade magazines seeking to hire an artist. After several months of going through samples of various artists, I came across the samples of Tod Smith. I couldn't believe it, Tod Smith of Spider-man and Green Hornet fame. The perfect artist to give the book the old school look that I desired. After reading the script, Tod agreed to do the artwork. My first project was on its way. The book was completed shortly afterwards. For those interested in purchasing a copy of The Enforcers, follow the link: www.threejproductions.com The book was completed in 1996, but due to personal issues it would be ten years before I would be able to do anything else. The personal issues have been resolved and I'm back. The company is up and running again with more characters, bigger story lines, but with that same old school style. The first project for release in early 08 is a short story featuring Jonas McCabe-Bounty Hunter in "Reflection In The Water". Written by the one and only Carl Herring Jr. and artwork by veteran artist Ed Coutts, "Reflection In The Water" is two-fisted western action at its best. The second project scheduled for release in 08 is the first appearance of FBI agents Chase and Hunt in "Above The Law". Agents Damien Chase and Kristen Hunt try to clear a friend accused of murder in a small town, but there's one problem, the town's sheriff is the only witness to the murder. The story is written by yours truly Carl Herring Jr. and artwork by Scott E. Ambruson. The exact release date TBA on this site at a later date.
