huge cheers for the solid feedback OS - been bashing out scrip pages and the tale certainly gets twisted as it moves along...looks like we're gonna crank out a whole GN rather than the four issues (this potential publisher is keen to keep it wrapped as a book)...I guess the market's moving that way so looks like we'll have it finished in July or so...in any case, we'll post a heap more pages of the first issue over the next few weeks so keep an eye...best regards, TJ |

very, very close but not the quite the guy you're thinking of...hey, now that lad's tale sounds likes a solid GN idea for your brand given the twisted titles you have in your stable...texas chainsaw meets stanley park - creepy, creepy indeed...best regards, TJ |

Concerning your current storyline: Writing is good, art is *fantastic*, but I hate the lettering and word balloons. They look too "computery" and not at all hand crafted. I guess concerning the subject matter that could be a plus, but to my aesthetics it just looks cheap and jarring. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on March 13th, 2007 12:13 PM ]

cheers for your feedback BM...yeah, we did think about this before knocking up the lettering and thought we'd keep it a bit on the classic and computer side given the illustration style and mobile topic...pleased you dig the tale and artwork and we'll drop you a line when we sort our an update schedule...best regards, TJ |

Wow! I ordinarily consider myself fairly desensitized to the horrors of contemporary life, for better or worse. I take pride in being somebody who is not easily shocked. But MP is just so raw, I couldn't help but take notice.
The premise of MP is mind-blowingly amazing. It's easily the most interesting work i've 'discovered' since I joined ComicSpace. Both thematically and stylistically, it brings to mind a lot of my all-time favorite titles (the rabid techno-fetishism of "Transmetropolitan" and "Mek"; Veidt's obsession with televisual sensory overload in "Watchmen"), as well my recent picks (the first arc of "American Virgin", with its conflict-ridden Third World setting; Brian Wood's "Supermarket"). But (so far, anyway) it has mixed up all these disparate elements together into a unique -- and eerily plausible -- vision of the near future. The well-thought-out designs for the mobile tech just adds to the verisimilitude of it all.
I'll definitely be pimping MP to other readers of "DMZ", as well as Jonathan Hickman's "Nightly News". 4 Replies [ Latest posted on March 13th, 2007 12:09 PM ]

Hi Jason,
Big cheers for the encouraging feedback and the add. You're glowing commentary of our sample has made our day, dude! And of course we'd love you - and the Nightly News chap - to review our project.
Currently we're chasing down two potential publishers that Phil's worked with in the past and we should find out if they are keen by Wednesday. We're nearly finished the first 1/4 of the GN - which we're going to send out as the first of four issues - so I might be able get something to you in next few weeks?
Again, a huge thanks for your interest and I'll be in touch later this month for sure....TJ |

Hey Paolo...
I see heaps of funky folks from the Phillipines using comicspace - and they're leaving some solid comments about MP. So I scanned around the web and I see your countrymen have a cool history of making comics (spotted some huge hitters at www.komikero.com/museum)
Got a couple of quick questions:
- Is the comics and GN market growing over there? - What kind of stuff is being purchased in shops? - Are there some major publishers putting out titles for the Asian market? (saw Mango and and few other independent guys)
Cheers for any of your insights, TJ |

Hey! Checked out your comic...The line work is strong, very Oeming-esque, so that's a good thing. I love when people put a gripping story together with a more classic style.
Only suggestion would be to use a larger font. If you don't and you go for print, it may be next to impossible to read. Trust me, we all are learning when it comes to stuff like that. I changed the font three times in the first month for THE ARDY VANSTARR ADVENTURES, and only now, on today's page, does it look the way I want.
Thanks again! Rob ardyvanstarr.com 1 Reply [ Latest posted on March 13th, 2007 12:06 PM ]

hey ardy...huge thanks for your feedback on the MP GN...
we definitely hear what you're saying about the font size (well-spotted) and indeed we looked at this before deciding upon a huge Euro-style comic print size (just a tad smaller than 8.5 X 17 and after trimming the edges, the text comes out just large enough)...that being said, for a webcomic format, we should probably take another look at this....anyhow, keep posting your cool work and I'll drop a quick message/bulletin when we get a regular page update thing happening with MP...best, TJ |
