About Us

TOKYOPOP is hailed as a leading youth-oriented entertainment brand and an innovator of manga creation, with a revolutionary artistic vision that transcends countless platforms. From the introduction of the first-ever extensive manga publishing program in North America, to the development of its manga-originated intellectual properties into film, television and digital entertainment, TOKYOPOP has changed the way teens experience pop culture. The company's global reach has expanded to Europe and Asia, with recent offices opening in the UK and Germany and partnerships in Australia and China, in addition to its original Los Angeles and Tokyo operations. With millions of fans logging onto www.TOKYOPOP.com, reading its books, and watching its DVDs and television programs, TOKYOPOP's award-winning catalogue of licensed and original properties has made the company a visionary in an ever-growing teen entertainment marketplace.

Rising Stars of Manga

If you have no prior publication experience and you live in the U.S., entering the Rising Stars of Manga (RsoM) competition is the best way to introduce yourself to TOKYOPOP. Your entry will consist of a complete manga short story that is ready for publication. That means you and your team must be able to handle every aspect of manga creation: script, layout, pencils, inks, tones, and lettering. Many people already know that finalists have the chance to pitch a full-length graphic novel series to the TOKYOPOP editors -- we've signed up 14 previous winners already. What you may not know is that even some of the manga-ka who did not win are currently working on TOKYOPOP projects that will see publication soon. Don't be discouraged if you don't win -- enter again and again. Right now, RSoM is a great source for TOKYOPOP to find and hire promising new talent.

Wow I get first post. Thank you guys for publishing a wide variety of Manga. Maybe one day, I'll be lucky enough to have abook put out by you guys.

But you seriously need to license Gantz. That is one of the best manga's I've read.
