About Me:
I'm just a retro junkie. I found that I really don't like a lot of pop culture these days. I know that a lot of what's around now was around in the 80s and 90s, but at least it was more fun to look at. In the last couple of years, my art has represented that a bit more. Fast Food I think is a good example of what that means. I also love the world of animation, always have. That's where ideas like this come from. The Art: I don't know what happened in the last year, but I've suddenly gotten to like my art. Maybe it was the year I was in the Disney College Internship that completely changed my brand of humor (going insane helps in that regard). Maybe it was the fact I started using photoshop almost exclusively while in said internship. I think maybe it was that month long stint I spent just using pens for my drawings. It helped me to be a little forgiving in my drawings. And that the expressions started getting a bit looser. The Site: It took me a long time to get over the monstrosity of my original site on geocities. While in Florida I bought some domains and let them sit for about a year or two before I started building my site. It would be completely my design (much to the chagrin of some tech heads I know). All the art was made to fit and I was amazed by the fact I can still look at it without thinking about how much went wrong (and believe me there's still some wrong with it). So go down there and lemme know what you think. There's plenty there to see and more gets added as time goes by. Tomcat Ltd The Comic: Same Apartment originally was going to be another one of those video game comics. While they make up some of my daily reading, I didn't feel like there was room for one more (and if there was, I didn't want to make it). So I thought what do people like? I had no idea. So what do I like? I had been working on some Mario Brothers comics for a bit of time before I made my site and I thought that reimagining some older known works was fun. And I found that I was pretty good at it (if Deviantart is any indication). So I started putting some of that into the comic and it went from there. Now I have things like Murder Ruxpin and Ghostbusters in the comic at random intervals. As weird as that seems, what it really boils down to is three roommates going against pop culture, video games, and life itself. O wait this is Comic Space, maybe I should put a link to the comic up. Same Apartment Updated Every Saturday S'mores Force The Links: My Deviantart Site My Shoddy Myspace Profile Drop me a message sometime. Tell me what you think. And if you're so inclined, add me to your friends, I'll be sure to return the favor. Ya, I think that's everything.. |
