Jazma Online Interview with Trey Wickwire

Update Jul. 08
Well its been a busy 6 months. My short story Mamluk Rescue has been published in the Orang Utan anthology Eleventh Hour from Markosia Comics. That's a great feeling! Hopefully I'll be able to start sending submission packages for the Mamluk series to publishers soon.

I'm going to be a guest at a comic convention other than the one I'm organising for the first time. The convention is called Comicpalooza and is being held at the Alamo Drafthouse on the opening weekend for the Dark Knight.

The convention that I organise is coming up on its second year. The Houston U-Con will be August 2nd this year and we have a great guest list this year.

Update Jan. 08
The official Press Release from Orang Utan Comics naming me the North American Representative has hit the news sites. You can read the text in my bulletins or here are a couple of News Sites that have graphics to go along.

I'm really looking forward to a great year! Mamluk is moving along nicely and the first chapter in the first book is nearly complete! Keep an eye on this page and I'll posts some color shots soon.

Mamluk is a military science fiction story set in the far future. The basic premise is that the human race has been kidnapped off the earth and turned into a military force for an alien empire. The term Mamluk is from the Egyptian warrior slaves that eventually overthrew their masters and took over the kingdom. Like the Egyptians, the aliens will learn that it isn’t wise to give your slaves all the weapons.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whales way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.

Hey Mike,

Thanks, glad you like it! London was great, I drank a lot of really good beers and hung out with the best of folks. Can't ask for any better.
