Hi Troy. I'm really glad I ran into you on here. I was always a big fan of your small press work and it's so nice to see the success that has come your way. It's also completely gratifying to see that it's come through maintaining your same sense of humor and style that you always had.

And the new Twilight Guardian series is looking real nice- it's got to feel pretty good seeing the final products. Kudos. Heck of a job.

I remember sitting next to you at the Chicago Comicon back in 2000 or 2001. You were selling Common Grounds as a small indie ashcan series. Enjoyed it when it came around as a full fledged comicbook.

Hiya! Wow, I think the 2000 Chicago convention was the last one there I attended (I had a solid streak from 1986 to 2000). Did I take up all your space? I was about 120 pounds heavier at the time, I think. I didn't eat your funnybooks, did I?

Thank you! It always gratifies me that folks say they can re-read the series. I own some 22,000 comics, and there are sooo many I have no desire to peruse again (though, to be honest, it's largely because of my secret shame...illiteracy!).

Hey, this is a site for comic book fans. If you take away the big "villain gloats and loses" speech, that's 43% of what we read comics for!

Thanks, Heidi! I sure hope to do more Common Grounds in the near future. It depends on if Top Cow gets in gear...cough cough...seriously, though, if not CG, I'll certainly be doing more stuff in my patented "amiable midwestern" style (Wizard magazine once referred to me as an "amiable midwestern type who's still comfortable using words like 'gosh' and 'golly'").
