Who is TruFan Publications?

We are a two-man independent small press operation that publishes a wide variety of zines, comics, TPBs, and even, eventually, graphic novels (& more).

TruFan’s "main" publication is our bi-monthly full-size reviewzine, SMALL PRESS EXTRA!. Dubbed by Tim Corrigan the new "Cornerstone of Small Press", we have set ourselves the task of becoming a crossroads for all things small press/indy related. SPE! includes news, articles, interviews, and, of course, reviews. We here at TFP are always on the look out for people to submit news items, press releases, articles…as well as material that you would like to see reviewed in our pages (comics, TPBs, graphic novels, zines, chapbooks, CDs or what have you).

However, that’s not all.

TruFan is also the publisher of a variety of other zines covering such topics as horror, comic books, and more; including DC UNIVERSE, FRANKENZINE, MONSTER-A-GO-GO, et al.

We are now in the process of launching TWO new fiction publications that have already started accepting submissions. GRIMOIRE is a title that will encompass all types of horror stories, from spine chilling suspense to over-the-top Grand Guignol wickedness, while LENG will be featuring tales in a Lovecratian vein, and writers submitting should be generally familiar with HPL’s Cthulhu mythos, and all that entails. Illustrators are welcome to contact us about cover art and spot illustration submissions for both.

Still, it does not end there friends, oh no. TruFan has also just released our first TPB publication, a small press project of some import, gathering together and reprinting the entire run of the issues of small press creator (and all around good egg) Steve Keeter's now legendary SKEET’S FAN FORUM & REVIEW; including the long awaited infamous missing twelfth issue that was never published.

“Enough,” you say, “there can’t be more!”

Well, we are happy to say that there is. Along with our text publications, TruFan Publications is proud to announce that we are moving ahead with our sequential arts related projects as well.

Issue one of our horror anthology comic book FEARBOOK made it’s premiere at MegaCon in Orlando in February, and we are hard at work setting up a second printing, as well as moving ahead on issue two. As with all of our publications, we are extremely open to proposals/submissions, and would love to include your work in future issues of this comic book anthology.

Also up our sleeves, we are currently seeking out an artist with whom we can entrust the commission of illustrating our first graphic novel, which we would like to release in time for Halloween of this year. It is a horror story featuring creatures of the “classic” old school look, and we are very excited at the prospect of getting this book into the hands of the horror and comic fans ASAP.

Well, what else is there to say? We are a very small outfit, and we are doing this for the love of it, so every issue of one of our publications that comes out is a major success for us; and for our collaborators as well.

We look forward to some of you joining us in this endeavor, and hopefully having (more than a little) fun in the process as well.
