Upstate! is a comic about a hippie with wicked fighting prowess who lives in the wilds of upstate New York. He has the improbable name of Lyster (LIE-stur) Desynic, and lives with an equally improbably assortment of rednecks, geeks, freeks, and republicans. His adventures are crappily rendered but frequently updated about thrice a week at http://upstate.cartoonsdammit.com/

Upstate is also part of Cartoons Dammit! which has world conquest as part of its agenda, among others. Be-ware.

Now a few words about the cartoonist:

Sam Early is a 26 year old boy cartoonist of decent heritiage and undeniable skills at bullshittery. He created Upstate in high school back in 1997, and it's only taken him nine years and a couple of false starts to accomplish the job poorly.

During this time he's dropped out of college, gone to basic training, dropped back into college, and gone to Iraq for a year where he was shot at and missed and shit at and hit. He currently has a 12 hour night shift at a plant that is ruining his life and a webcomic that is ruining his soul.
