Mimir's Word #2 - An Official Valhalla Comics Update

Good morning guys and gals,

Welcome to Mimir's Word #2 - An Official Valhalla Comics Update. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season. As much as I love the
holidays, spending time with family and getting away from work, I'm really happy to see things get back to normal again. I think we all know about the chaos revolving around holidays, with travel, spending time with family (haha) and the work that builds up while you're gone.

Anyway, we're back and I've got some new goodies for you guys to check out! On with the news...

Valhalla Comics' Discussion Forum:

We have two new jams going on this week, along with a battle that's about to end.

1. I wanted to give you guys one more reminder about the Holiday
Character Battle here:

This battle will be ending this week on Saturday, January 12 and we have NO submissions so far!

Don't forget that if you win this battle, you'll receive free advertising on the valhallacomics.com main site, in the rotating banner. Each banner has around 15,000 views at the moment, and that count began only a month ago. Of course, you'll also be able to choose a custom title of your liking, and change anyone else's to whatever you want on the forum.

2. Last week I instituted a new jam, called "Sketch of the Week." We had a pretty decent turnout for that, with the first subject being "Anatomy of a Woman."

The Sketch of the Week #2, this week is: "Anatomy of a Man." Post your quick sketches here:

3. The Concept of the Month Jam for January is: "Rulers of Hell." The
objective of this month's jam is create a finished piece of a demonic being who rules hell/the underworld/etc from any religion/mythology, or from your imagination. Post your submissions here:

Next month, we'll be focusing on Angelic beings and rulers of Heaven from various mythologies/religions.

Valhalla Comics' Sagas O' Scrutiny:

1. Anton Curley has knocked out two more reviews, one for The Mighty Avengers and another for Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. Very well done and this kicks his number of reviews up to five, and he's only just begun! Check out the reviews here:

Valhalla Comics' Mug O' Mead:

1. Following the recent hiatus, due to the holidays and my shifting of
responsibilities (because of the online store), I bring to you the first interview of January!

I was finally able to put together the interview I had with Stykman

2. We have two more interviews on the road to completion, as well: one with Ken Haeser & Buz Hasson, and another with John Rauch.

Valhalla Comics' Lil' Gods Web-Comic:

1. With some minor changes in layout & missing color, Lil' Gods is underway with new installments. Both episode 4 and episode 5 are up! Take a look and let us know what you think:

Valhalla Comics' Online Store:

1. I noticed an error in Mimir's Word #1, which said that I was NOT an
official carrier of BlueLine Comic Art Boards... On the contrary! That was supposed to say "NOW," because I AM an official carrier of BlueLine Comic Art Boards. You can purchase those at very competitive prices with very fair shipping prices. Check out the art boards and sketch cards here:

2. I'm no longer offering UPS shipping, due to their ridiculously
over-priced services. They just increased their prices this year, starting on January 1 and they really made it unpleasant for consumers to use their service... even just for ground shipping. So, now I'm offering USPS services. Much cheaper with the same options available as UPS, plus they offer international shipping, and shipping to PO Boxes. Those are all pluses in my book.

3. For those of you looking to protect your comic collection, or just make them more presentable in boxes, Valhalla Comics is also stocked with comic book supplies, like comic backing boards and comic bags. You can view a list of these here: http://www.valhallacomics.com/home.php?cat=13

4. The Artist Alley will be undergoing some minor changes tonight, to
address some issues, but please feel free to sign-up for an account. The Artist Alley account allows artists, like yourselves, the ability to sell items on the Valhalla Comics online store. This gives you another venue to promote your art and get increasing visibility in the industry. If you become a featured artist, I'll even go as far as to sell your work for you on eBay and promote it at conventions that I attend. It's free to sign-up and free to post your products. The only fee comes from the actual sale of your products. You have two choices: regular account - 15% fee, and featured account - 20% fee.
