Waterloo
Dead Letter Quaterly is now accepting submissions for its debut issue. We're looking for prose fiction, of any genre, any length (within reason; we do short stories, folks, not War and Peace). If you've been told your work "isn't right," we're the place you can turn to. That's our dead letter philosophy.
At last, a published author, my book, The Cloak of Shrouded Men is a novel set in the superheroic world, using the familiar trappings but in a way you'd never see in a Silver Age comic. Neither as grim as a Frank Miller Dark Knight, nor as gleaming as a Johnny DC title, it is an exploration of such a world as you may have found yourself in, the cape as another job with another miserable life. Yet the central character is forever grappling with the worth of his activities, sometimes regretting them, sometimes engaging with reckless abandon. It is a story of hope, of war, of peace, of life itself. If you'd like a copy for review purposes, drop me a line at bandido@gmail.com, or by all means, support my work outright! Visit iUniverse and order yourself a copy today! At Paperback Reader, I review comics and write a column (The Quarter Bin) about them. I accomplished reviews for every week of DC's 52. And guess what! I am going to be a writer you read in comics some day. So many people say that! But at some point, it will really happen for me! You will read such books as Bandit, The Astrals, and The Conformists. And you will slap yourself when you realize you could've read them earlier, because at this point, I am no closer to breaking through the industry than I was two years, even three years ago, when all but the first title, and not even the novel, existed, in some form. So guess why I came here? Waterloo's BulletinsDisplaying 1-4 of 4 bulletins...
