My name is Josh Farkas and I am an independent graphic novel artist and self-publisher under the name Water Media. Why Water? It means always being adaptable and serving up refreshing comic content. The hope is to create books using the sequential format that simply have never been seen before.

I've also worked as assistant to a few of the indy comic greats.

I started as a children's book illustrator where I created 13 children's titles for clients such as the Chicago public schools. During high-school I fell in love with independent comics from Alternative Comics, Top Shelf, Highwater, and Fantagraphics. This inspired me to try my hand at telling human stories grounded in comic art.

By day I'm a graphic designer in print and web for Fortune 500 companies. I also created (and sold) the startup Facetags.com and the up-and-coming Sketchd.com. My next book is a 200+ page full color oversize graphic novel called "Welcome to Pixleton" that has been in production for over three years. With WtP I hope to create a completely new and refreshing genre of comics.
