WWWWD? (What Would Wonder Woman Do?)

"What Would Wonder Woman Do?" Is a phrase coined by one of my co-workers. He loves to "sing" parts of the Wonder Woman theme song at me when I am at work. And one of our many WW/comics conversations led to a "Wonder Woman would never do that" comment which led to "What Would Wonder Woman Do?" Which, for those that do not catch where that comes from, is a way of saying "if Wonder Woman would not do this, should you really be doing it?" It's kind of rocking and has definitely caught on at work. So, hey: WHAT WOULD WONDER WOMAN DO?

The Superman and Wonder Woman Fan Archive

A little about me:

I guess I should get down to writing something here other than a complaint about a storyline I have not yet read. (But the art for Amazons Attack ROCKS!) Anyway...

I am a HUGE Wonder Woman fan and have been for as long as I can remember. I have been collecting WW comics for over 10 years now, and, yeah, it was a slow start, but I have built up a nice little collection with my limited resources.

I am also a Catwoman fan since the days of the Batman Animated Series with the blonde socialite Selina Kyle. I am currently enjoying her series. I think Adam Hughes draws a MUCH better Catwoman than he does Wonder Woman.

I also read JLA, Teen Titans (which is suprisingly enjoyable to me), and have recently added Birds of Prey (because Gail Simone is an AMAZING writer and I look up to her) and Detective Comics (because Paul Dini just rocks. Did you read WW: Spirit of Truth? Spot on. Pick up any of his or Gail Simone's books and you will be hooked. Or meet Mr. Dini in person. He's awesome...I have not met Gail Simone yet, but I imagine she is just as awesome).

I get the Superman titles, but do not read them as much as I should. Some of those stories are good and some are bad, so I just flip through them. I am really enjoying the current run of Supergirl. I think this new Supergirl is much better than any of the old ones.

Nicola Scott is a new and up and coming artist in the world of comics. She draws an amazing Wonder Woman.

I have recently discovered Pete Woods' art, as well. You should check out his sketches for Amazons Attack. Whereas the story will more than likely be ridiculous for a WW/Amazon story, the art will be fantastic!

I am an amatuer writer as I have only ever been published in local newspapers. Big whoop, I know. However, I very much enjoy writing. I write some FanFics which, with the exception of a few, can be found online. But I also do original work, as well. You may be able to find one or two poems of mine (under my penname) online, but that will be about it. Not many people are privvy to my original works and I keep them close at home. Think of me in a similar fashion to how Emily Dickinson was with her work...only mine are hidden in a bag in my closet under boxes of action figures, posters, and a bunch of other WW stuff. Maybe one day I will feel something I have written is good enough to be published, but that day is not today. I do, however, have a few WW storylines that I would like to offer up to DC, but I know they are not interested. I cannot draw, I can barely draw stick figures. But I am killer on detail in stories. Which is not always a good thing.

21 Dec 2006:

Amazons Attack is a WW mini-series apparently coming out in April of 2007. You can read the interview about it here: http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=94872

Personally, I do not understand why so many people seem to be so happy about this. The story sounds bloody aweful. Do so many creators really not know anything about the Amazon and Wonder Woman? Are they just making all this crap up because they *think* they can make her "better??" Dudes. For everyone who thinks they can make Wonder Woman "better" look at John Byrne's run. NOT BETTER. Look at Heinberg's run: LATE and NOTHING TRULY ORIGINAL ABOUT IT aka NOT BETTER. Honestly, if you are going to write Wonder Woman, please, PLEASE do a little research and leave your ego at the door. She deserves a hell of a lot better.

Thanks for the add.

So which writers did you like on Wonder Woman?

I liked George Perez and Phil Jimenez. Greg Rucka's run was okay, but it just seemed to be missing something.

Happy New Year, Cat!!! I'd be glad to look over anything you write, since I enjoy your writing alot. I will warn you, though, that poetry isn't one of my strong points. ;)

Love the added content. I learned more about you in this space than I did through email and messaging with you. That's not right!! ;-) Anyway, you forgot to add a link to your Superman / Wonder Woman web page.

WWWWD? Damn straight. We could start a whole WW religion...just like Ned Flanders has, only a bit more Pagan...naaah. It's good, but is it THAT good?

Awww, I'm not on your top 10 anymore.

Heh I understand actually, I know this site doesn't have the feature where you can organize your friends by priority like myspace does.

Still, I miss my logo. :(

Okay I joined your bizarre cult. Now what? Do we wait for the comet? Also I believe I was promised Kool Aid.

Actually this looks kind of cool. I am excited to be a part of it.
