I think you should make Ethan Van Sciver a regular on the show John! I think he gives Bendis a run for his money as far as sense of humor. Keep up the great work man! 1 Reply [ Latest posted on July 13th, 2007 2:03 AM ]

John, The new Bradstreet episode is fantastic. I love the insight to Tim's working methods and the way the two of you "chat" about his career. Very casual but thorough in the way you interview, it flows great - never a dull moment. Another golden interview. |

hi mr. siuntres! i heard all the shows so far and i'm just looking forward for more!!
great that you got in depth with rucka's work process, opinions, etc. love the 3-part format you kind of already had going with bendis. (i guess the loeb 2-part fell kind of close) i assume it probably is exhausting, particularly for you and the interviewee, but it really covers tons of ground and leaves the listener with very little to ask, for quite a while at least. hope it becomes a standard of your show and that it extends to more engaging authors.
congrats on your work! it really stands alone as a more focussed and well informed approach to the interview of comic book related authors. thank you for your work and keep it coming! (it seems your regularity is changing since the website-update/newsarama-deal) |

Good Morning Principle Suintres. nice cameo. unfortunate timing for a school shoot up issue, but nice cameo enjoyed the Rucka stuff, surprisingly honest. Congratulations on the Newsarama deal. just finished the Meltzer interview good stuff. |

I love word balloon and really appreciate your interviewing style. I feel like I have a better grasp on who a creator is after your shows rather than just having listened to someone pimp out their latest project for an hour.
Also can I just say Kudos on what you've been doing with Around Comics lately? You help round out that group in a way that's really satisfying to listen to, and good lord are you funny after you've warmed up a bit.
Anywho dittos from Melee Comics, read our stuff when you have a chance, blah blah blah.

Loving the latest installments of the Bendis Tapes. Is it wrong that I listen to those while I drive my 2 year old to daycare? :)
Thanks for all the hard work! |

Thanks for the "befriending" thing. I'm just gonna suck up again for a second ok? I really dig your show, I think your interviews are very well done and informative and entertaining. I am always particularly surprised how much I get out of interviews with creators whose work I am not familiar with. It's often those shows that I enjoy the most.
So keep up the great work!
And do more Cosby impressions. :) |

Mr Siuntres Thanks for adding me to your list. Love your interviews especially the one with Neal Adams. I've been a long time fan of his and was curious to actually hear him talk. I also enjoy when you join in with Chris, Sal and Tom at Around Comics. |

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going! If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page. Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!

Hey John,
I loved both new interviews this week. Christos Gage is one of the best writers to hit the business in recent times, and it makes me happy to know the he is in no short supply of work.
Also, great interview with Ben Lichius. The Black Coat is a fantastic book, and I cannot wait for more! |

Thanks for the awesome podcast, John. It is always "top of the stack" on my iPod. I like how you have a conversation with a creator, rather than a one-sided Q&A session. It gives a much better picture of the interview subject as a person than your standard No-Prize quest type of interview. Keep 'em coming! |

I love the show - I listen to it all the time! (In fact I have some catching up to do today - and some inking - so that works out well!) I think the best aspect of the show is how you delve a little into the history, the techniques, and the inspiration/influences etc. of the interviewee, rather than only talking about the project du jour. Thanks for linking up with my comicspace and I'll talk to you later!
