Al grew up in the middle of the very flat state of South Dakota. Then he turned 18, graduated from high school and decided to spend $30,000 on an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Animation. He has since then used that long degree name whenever possible in an attempt to make some use of that money.

Since gaining the degree he has worked completely unrelated jobs and dabbled in long lost web comics called Project: Comic, Somewhat True-Life Tales of Zarabadoo and His World and Doodle Diary. He is currently getting back into the comic life and has associated himself with a local group of self-publishing, comic-making vigilantes calling themselves Squid Works.

He is also trying to make some use of his artistic skills and has started a little design business called Zar Art, LLC. With that he plans to design print and web for individuals and small companies. He also plans to use it as a front to smuggle his doodley creations to others. Until that place is fully up an running, feel free to visit his neglected homepage at Zarabadoo.com

His inspirations in life started with, of all things, Garfield. Eventually his tastes matured and he started idolizing Bill Watterson of Calvin & Hobbes fame. These days he gets inspiration from almost anywhere since he believes comics and cartoons should be for the masses and should not be focused solely at children. There is always room for comics no matter what the age.

Although it hasn't officially made it as a quarterly feature (that will be in February), you caffiene-addicted 24-Hour Comic fans need to check out Al's "CaffiNATION" book -- you'll be glad that you did. You'll also be surprised that he finished it in what... perhaps 18 or 19 hours.

Thanks again for helping with all the computer stuff at the challenge, Al.
