Primarily a collector. Comics and original comic art. I've been reading comics since I could read so somewhere in the 27 year range at this point. Mostly a product of 80's comics. I've read all types of comics over the years. But primarily it always comes back to superheroes.

And when it comes to superhero books you primarily end up with Marvel and DC. Although if there is a good superhero comic from an independant I'll read it.

And again that's a primary superhero thing. I read Star Wars stuff from Dark Horse, I read whatever Chinese comics I can get my hands on (even though they seem to get published in the US once every few years), I still read some manga from my youth. And random stuff that get's recommended.

I collect original art. Not a big time collector. My goal is to get one page from all my favorite aritsts. Limited of course by budget. And of course if I already have a page from an artist or title and I see another great page I can afford I'll try to get it.

Among other things I have hanging on the wall right now are pages from John Byrne (Alpha Flight), Geroge Perez (Avengers), Jim Starlin (Superman and Spectre page), Howard Chaykin (American Flagg), Adam Hughes (Justice League), Keith Giffen (Legion of Superheroes), Steve Rude (Nexus), Steve Lightle (Legion), Jackson Guice (Flash), Tim Sale (Catwoman When in Rome), Jim Balent (Catwoman), Greg Land (Birds of Prey - not his new style), Mike Grell (James Bond), Joe Chiodo (Harley and Ivy) and others. There's more stuff on the walls and stuff waiting to get framed. Original art just looks good hanging on the wall.

I blog occasionally. http://blog.myspace.com/wildfier
Mostly to gripe out loud to myself. Need to give more praise where it is good. Problem is when reading the good stuff I just want to keep reading, when I read stuff I don't enjoy I can back off from reading for a bit to purge and vent. I'll enjoy 80 books a month but then the last 10 will cause me to look like one of those negative types who you wonder why they even read comics. I'm not that, I love comics and think there is a lot of great stuff being printed out there. But not everything is gold.

If my icon isn't a giveaway I'm a huge Legion of Superheroes fan. Wish that was my copy of Adventure Comics 247 though but alas I don't own one. A little too pricey. This is a piece of clip art from ComicBase the comic inventory software I use. Personally I love this program. Highly recommend it if you ahve a large collection and feel the software is in your price range. I'm in no way affiliated with the ComicBase people, so I am truly just trying to pass along a friendly recommendation. But I digress.
